Spartanburg County Detention Center Expansion
This project was a 29,000 SF expansion to the existing detention center. It is a plant precast concrete structure, consisting of four direct supervision type housing dormitories, each with 64 beds and one 8 bed unit housing for 17 year olds for a total of 264 beds. Each dorm has an enclosed recreation yard. The facility was designed for future expansion down the central corridor to maximize the available space on the County’s property. It also included security electronics and control functions that are tied into the existing Master Control Center.
The site construction consisted of the housing dorm building pad, clearing, grading, and storm water system including a water management pond.
